Season 9, Episode 1: Avalon part 1

Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell is looking at the Stargate, while in the computer room Sergeant Walter says that he was one of the fighter pilots in the battle on Antarctica against Anubis. General Hank Landry, Jack’s successor, tells him that he is to lead SG-1, though he also tells him that the original SG-1 is no more. Samantha takes care of SGC’s Research and Development project at Area 51. Jackson has put in for reassignment and Teal’c left the program a month ago. He is somewhat disappointed, but there are no excuses in front of the General. Cameron also goes to talk to Daniel in hopes of talking him into staying, but to no avail. Talks with Samantha and Teal’c are somewhat the same. It all turns around when Vala arrives to Earth bringing a tablet which is presumed to have a location of a treasure of the Ancients, so Cameron thinks that this could be an ace up his sleeve for the rejoining of the original SG-1.

Season 9, Episode 2: Avalon part 2

The story of the previous episode continues. Daniel and Vala managed to solve their puzzle and stop the ceiling from lowering, but Teal’c and Cameron are still in trouble. Cameron does manage to somehow figure out what to do, so they make it out safe. They go back to the sword and this time they successfully pull it out, so this time a knight appears and prepares to fight. While Cameron fights for his life, the team realizes that it is a hologram, but it can hurt him. He tries to cast the sword toward Teal’c, but it seems that only Cameron can touch it. Daniel somehow realizes that Cameron needs to be alone in order to take the next step, but as soon as they beam out, the chamber starts collapsing. They discover that Vala stole a golden coin, so Cameron rushes back to return it in place, stopping the collapse. He then returns the sword into the stone and then a vast treasure appears before him. Daniel discovers a book holding a story telling the tale of Altaran, a race which named their world Avalon and that they built many Stargates.

Season 9, Episode 3: Origin

The story told in “Avalon” continues in Origin. Vala, Daniel and the Ori Prime, as he introduces himself, arrive to the “Planes of Celestus” at the City of the Gods. They are left to wait in a chamber, while another Prior comes through the gate at another planet and says to the people “Hallowed are the Ori”. Meanwhile at the SGC, the bodies of Vala and Daniel are stable. General Landry orders Lam to figure out how to shut down the connection, no matter the cost, since he won’t allow the two to die. Landry later separates Teal’c from the others, so that he can tell him the little information he has on Gerak, later instructing him to arrange a meeting with the new head of the Council. Back at the chamber, the Prior returns to Vala and Daniel. Daniel tries to explain about the Ancients, while the Prior tags them as “unbelievers”.

Season 9, Episode 4: The Ties That Bind

Vala finally departs from the SGC through the Stargate. After short goodbyes, Daniel goes to meet Mitchell, who wants to make sure he is staying on SG-1. During the conversation Daniel collapses and later wakes up in the infirmary. Dr. Lam thinks that his condition is still connected to Vala, who also came back and recovered as soon as they got close again. It seems that the Goa’uld bracelets and the communication device possibly created a permanent bond between the two. Vala reveals that she knows a scientist who examined the bracelets and from whom she stole the bracelets in the first place, so he is the most likely who can help them out. Daniel and Cameron meet with Arlos, who firmly believes that he can cut the bonds created, but wants to see Vala. As it turns out, Vala “stole his heart”, since they had something going on between them and he has a wish to meet her.

Season 9, Episode 5: The Powers that Be

Mitchell’s launch is being disturbed as Vala comes along and starts annoying him to go and start doing something about the Priors of the Ori. The team eventually goes to planet P8X-412, a planet with which Vala has presumably good relationships. It seems that she is revered there as Qetesh, her former Goa’uld self. The natives do in fact drop to their knees once she appears, dressed up and using a synthesizer for the Goa’uld-like voice. After a play which the natives perform, Vala interrogates them about a Prior who came to the planet. Daniel investigates among the locals about the Prior even further and finds out that he was spreading the word that Qetesh is a false god, that he was healing the locals and only asking for them to spread the word about the Ori. He is due to come back tomorrow and he plans to strike her down.

Season 9, Episode 6: Beachhead

There is a quick recap of basically the whole season nine at the beginning. On a desert world the native Jaffa come to the Stargate to engage the Prior of the Ori who awaits them. They refuse to bow down to the Ori and start attacking, but the Prior counterattacks and sends the Jaffa flying away and then creating a huge force field around himself and the Stargate. Back at the SGC, there is an incoming wormhole alert and a text message in Goa’uld coming from Nerus. He was a minor Goa’uld for centuries very known for his many appetites and a vast knowledge in science. It seems that he is offering to work for the SGC. In the briefing room, Daniel is reading the translation, when an off-world activation alarm disrupts them and Nerus himself comes through the gate. While Nerus takes a snack, we see a quick look at the desert world as Jaffa try to break the dome around the gate. Nerus shows a holographic image of the force field on the planet Kalanna and says that it seems to be expanding and the gate is constantly open. Landry gives a go for a mission and later Samantha Carter shows up.

Season 9, Episode 7: Ex Deus Machina

There is a quick recap at the beginning, concerning Gerak and the Trust. Once “Ex Deus Machina” starts, we see a Jaffa running through the woods on Earth. It all happens in Virginia and in the end he is hit by a car and killed instantly. News of this event comes to the SGC and Teal’c realizes that the Jaffa was a servant of Lord Yu, thanks to the forehead symbol. Those Jaffa now serve Gerak. Later Daniel discovered that there is a nearby factory in Virginia which belongs to Farrow-Marshall and it seems their chief financial officer is missing. In the meantime, Gerak is discussing with the Jaffa Council, suggesting that the Tok’ra must be dealt with extreme caution and advises the use of force. Teal’c and Cameron arrive in time, Teal’c defending the Tok’ra and saying that force should not be used. Later, the two confront Gerak concerning the Jaffa killed on Earth, but he says he has no knowledge of the event. They are not so certain that he is telling the truth.

Season 9, Episode 8: Babylon

SG-1 is on an off-world mission, exploring a planet with a lush forest, when it is suddenly attacked by a group of Jaffa belonging to the Warriors of Sodan. Cameron ends up being badly wounded in the battle. The leader of the Jaffa orders the troops to take Cameron with them and via cloaking device they escape the grasp of SG-1 and SG-22, which arrived as backup. Cameron wakes up in the Sodan village where the Jaffa try to keep him alive. Meanwhile, a medical team arrives to SG-1 and they treat the Jaffa wounded by Cameron who was left behind. The team also locates an ancient writing nearby that both Daniel and Teal’c don’t recognize, but Daniel presumes this is a “gateway to enlightenment”. They take the Jaffa back to SGC for Dr. Lam to heal him and they also realize that he has a cloaking device. Back at the Jaffa village, Cameron is also being healed and he is being told that he must pay for spilling Sodan blood by going into ritual combat to the death.

Season 9, Episode 9: Prototype

Samantha approaches Landry with a report that the Tok’ra have discovered a gravitational disturbance with their long range sensors. They don’t have a ship in range, so she asks for permission to go there herself. Later, she returns to the SGC along with SG-5, telling Landry that they were on the wrong planet, since there was no MALP present. It seems to be a gate malfunction, so Landry orders all off-world teams to go to the Alpha site and keeps the SGC gate offline until they figure out what is wrong. It is revealed that an off-world gate is redirecting anything of organic matter away from the planet. The team added a biological sample into the new MALP and they manage to get to the right planet, so SG-1 and SG-5 move in. On the planet, which is covered with forests and greenery, they find the transporter rings which lead them to an abandoned Goa’uld lab, where they discover a Goa’uld-human hybrid in stasis.

Season 9, Episode 10: The Fourth Horseman part 1

There is a recap of events concerning the Ori. Cameron and Daniel are talking about the Ori when an undercover team returns from P2X-885. Colonel Barnes leads the team and he tells Cameron that the Ori have arrived to the planet, this being the third one in the last month. In the meanwhile on Dakara, we see an Ori Prior coming into the chambers of Gerak, where he pledges to spread the word of the Ori, since he has come to understand the Origin, but it will take some time for the other Jaffa to do so. Back in SGC, Samantha explains in the briefing room that they are on a good road to build an anti-Prior device, an idea based on some work with Khalek. On Dakara, Gerak is talking to the High Council and Bra’tac is the first to stand against him. Things get edgy and a recess is called, during which the Bra’tac and Teal’c talk, expressing concern of the elders that the Ancients won’t help them and that the Ori may be the best alternative route. Back at the SGC, Barnes displays signs of a Prior infection and the virus quickly spreads.
