The beginning refreshes our mind concerning Merlin’s weapons and Daniel’s disappearance after which “The Shroud” begins. SG-1 discovers a village which has been visited by an Ori Prior, who arrived and gave the Book of Origin to them, saying he will return. The leader of the village, a man named Tevaris, hears out the team as they speak of the threat the Ori pose. The Prior comes back and Tevaris hides the team. Once the Prior arrives and speaks to Tevaris he pulls back his hood and reveals his face, the Prior being Daniel. The team quickly reports back to Landry at the SGC, thinking that Daniel was most likely brainwashed into becoming one of the Priors. They return to the planet and they successfully beam him aboard the Odyssey, zapping him and throwing him into the anti-Prior device. It seems that Daniel was just pretending to be an Ori, since he is now a part of Merlin’s plan…well, actually memories of his plan. SG-1 is suspicious of his claims, so he continues, saying that he needed to become one of them so that he could steal an Ori ship and go through the supergate to the place the weapon is and destroy them. Adria made him into a Prior since she thinks that Daniel is the best candidate to convert Earth to the ways of the Ori, as well as converting Vala. In any case, he asks the team to shut down the wormhole blocking the supergate so he can set his plan into motion.
